Cat Cafe Taking Port Orange by Storm!
Location Cats Snacks opened this past Saturday at The Pavilion at Port Orange located at 5513 S. Williamson Blvd Suite No. 211 between Ulta Beauty and Petco Animal Supplies. Maybe it's because it is the first of it's kind in Daytona Beach, Florida or maybe because we can not get enough of those furry felines, whatever the reason may be Location Cats & Snacks is quickly becoming quite the sensation in the Daytona Beach area.
So what can one expect at the recently opened Cat Cafe?
Fans of furry felines will now have an opportunity to enjoy snacks while petting and feeding cats. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase via vending machines that are located at the back of the store. There will be a counter space for snacking with outlets to plug in your laptop computer and even free wi-fi! The popular cat cafe will also feature gourmet popcorn along with chips, ice cream and several Japanese specialties like mochi – which is basically a rice cake dessert. There are currently 16 cats available to cuddle with all of which come from the Halifax humane society. If you fall in love with one of the furry companions you will have the option to adopt him or her on the spot.
Now, as for actually getting into the cat cafe, how does it work?
After signing a waiver and paying a $5 admission fee visitors can have an hour to spend petting and playing with the felines, snacking and using the wi-fi at the cafe! The concept started when owners Marilyn Silva and Collen Macy visited a newly opened Cat Cafe in Orlando that was so busy customers were encouraged to make reservations online. Not to mention how much fun it was to see the interactions and love being given to the feline companions. That's when the two decided Port Orange needed a Cat Cafe of it's own.
