National Lighthouse Day Saturday, August 5, 2017, 10:30 AM-2:30 PM Celebrate National Lighthouse Day at the historic Ponce Inlet Lighthouse—the tallest lighthouse in Florida! Event includes historical games and exhibits, as well as a make-your-own lighthouse pennant craft center. USLA National Lifeguard Championships Wednesday, August 9-Saturday, August 12, 2017 The Volusia Surf Lifesaving Association will host the National Lifeguard Championships this year in Daytona Beach! More than 3,000 competitors from across the United States will compete in board races, surf swims, surf boat races, beach flag and rescue races, running relays, Iron Man competitions and a 2K beach run! Spectators welcome at the beach behind Daytona Ocean Walk Resort!
